God, while hearing us, also remembers we belong to Him, and is concerned for our well-being. To illustrate: When Israel left Egypt, God provided manna to protect them from; hoarding & consumerism, from a lifestyle of wasting resources, and survival of the fittest mindset. All these values, plus more, is the weekly Sabbath.
